Who We Are

At the Intersection of Giving and Action

Created in 1985 as the Community Foundation of Collier County, we are a tax-exempt, public charitable foundation. Today, as the Collier Community Foundation, the true value of our work continues to extend deep into the community. In partnership with our donors, grant recipients, and local leaders, we respond to the needs of the community and seed innovation.

The video below shows some of our amazing work in the past year.

Did You Know?

William Oberhelman

William Oberhelman, a retired businessman from Cincinnati, Ohio, and Donald T. Franke, a well-known Naples attorney, joined forces, put together a board and raised $300,000 to fund the fledgling organization’s permanent charitable endowment. Bill Oberhelman was named the first executive director and Don Franke was chairman of the Board of Trustees. Thanks to their early dedication, today the foundation has a sustainable source of income to meet the ever-changing needs of Collier County. Read more about our history here.
