Julie Van Tongeren

Julie is the Vice President of Development and leads the Foundation’s initiatives related to fund development, professional advisors, community philanthropic partnerships, constituent relations, estate planning and stewardship.

A native of Detroit, MI with a degree from Boston College, she spent most of her career in philanthropy in Southeast Michigan where she led grantmaking and fundraising efforts at the Max M. and Marjorie S. Fisher Foundation, the Detroit RiverFront Conservancy, the University of Michigan and Michigan Medicine.

Julie has more than 12 years of experience in philanthropy and has been with the Foundation for two years since relocating to Naples, FL with her husband and their dog Tilly in January of 2019. They enjoy volunteering, boating, tennis, outdoor exercise and adventure, cooking at home, and traveling.
